It would be a killer living around so many trees and you didn't like olives. By the way did you ever bottle any of your olives and if you did, how did they turn out and was it worth the effort?

Wow that's a lot of olive trees which kinda makes my olive farm I once had look pretty sparse, when I lived in Brisbane I had just one olive tree. Looking at all those has made me hungry for a feed of olives now

Pat

There is sooo much to think about over here.

Ross

It's pretty dry countrty. I think your're right about tans (or pehaps we should say skin cancer) and goats. Feral olives have become a real problem in South Australia and after seeing the landscape in this part of Spain it's not hard to see why olives do so well in Australia's crap soil and harsh conditions.

Donald

The more it think about the "good old days" the happier I am to be living now and to be able to live in peace in Australia. When I was in Bosnia a local guy said to me, "we have a war here every 50 years".

Some of the olives were amazing. i had some that tasted smoked and when I asked if they were in fact smoked, I was told, "no, that's just the way how we do them in this area, it's our specialty".

Amazing. Almost like corn in Iowa... and it's the same: the locals are so proud of their corn they want to stuff you full of it. I envy you the taste of locally grown and cured olives and olive oil... yum! When you think of those hill towns, the good old days don't seem so good.

That's a lot of olives!

Is the climate suitable for growing anything else?
... I can only think of goats and tans and good leg muscles.

Driving past a stroboscope...excellent way of describing the effect of all these trees...enjoyed the ideas in this post as well. But, that of course is not breaking news, is it?
